It would be a lonesome night

If there were no moons or stars in sight

It would be a cold night

If the snow stuck to the ground and there was no warmth of light

It would be a forlorn night

If there was no shelter for the bird in flight

But I am a traveller down the road

I don't have home, fire or moon and stars to behold

I only have my worn out shoes and torn rags

Pallid face, withered body and food that lacks

I am a traveller down the road

I don't have home, fire or moon and stars to behold

I only have my cherished pride and pictures that sit still in mind

Beating heart and a warm soul, I walk and walk, I won't look behid

For I am a traveller down the road

And I don't have home, fire or moon and stars to behold
